A forum on the Jeffrey Epstein case: records, reporting, discussion

House rules

Rules of the forum

Short, and enforced. The case is serious; the people discussed here are real.

1. Facts first

This forum is for discussing what is documented: court filings, depositions, rulings, official reports and verified journalism. When you state something as fact, say where it comes from. A docket number, a page reference or a link to the source is enough.

Speculation and theories are allowed when they are clearly labelled as such (“I suspect”, “it seems plausible that”) and built on something documented. Presenting a theory as established fact is not.

2. No private individuals

Do not name, identify or hint at the identity of private people: victims and survivors who have not spoken publicly under their own name, family members, staff, witnesses, or anyone whose name appears redacted or only in unsealed lists without further context. Public figures may be discussed in their public role, on the basis of the record.

3. No unverified accusations

Accusing a named person of a crime that no court, prosecutor or reputable outlet has attributed to them is defamation, whoever you are and however sure you feel. Quote the record. If the record is a mere mention in a contact book or a flight log, say exactly that and nothing more.

4. No doxxing, ever

Home addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, identification numbers, workplaces, licence plates and similar details do not belong here, even if they can be found elsewhere. The composer blocks obvious patterns automatically; moderators remove the rest and suspend accounts that keep trying.

5. Be decent

No harassment, threats, slurs or dehumanising language. Attack arguments, not members. Survivors are to be spoken about with respect.

6. Keep it on topic and legal

No spam, no advertising, no copyrighted material beyond fair quotation, and no material that is illegal to distribute. Link to documents rather than pasting them in full.

Enforcement

  • Anyone can report a thread or reply with the “Report” link under it. Reports are private.
  • Moderators may hide, lock, pin or delete content and suspend accounts. Hidden content shows as “removed by moderation”.
  • Every moderation action is logged. Appeals go to mod@japstein.com.
  • Posting is limited to 5 posts per 10 minutes, and you can edit your own posts for 30 minutes after publishing.

Legal notices (takedown requests, defamation and privacy complaints) follow the procedure on the legal page.
